The standard deduction is $16,100 for single filers, $32,200 for married couples filing jointly, and $24,150 for heads of household. Social Security takes 6.2% of wages up to $184,500, and Medicare takes 1.45% of all wages plus 0.9% on wages above $200,000.
- Utah has a flat income tax, cut from 4.5% to 4.45% for 2026 by S.B. 60.
- Instead of a standard deduction, Utah gives a taxpayer tax credit equal to 6% of the federal standard deduction plus Utah dependent exemptions, reduced by 1.3 cents for each dollar of income above a base amount.
